Juvenile Flamingo

Just getting a bit of pink around his beak and eyes, this is a stunning example of a juvenile flamingo.

Flamingos start life grey and fluffy, then transorm into their pink glory once they start consuming their diet of algae and brine shrimp.

From a bird sanctuary in South Africa, this guy died naturally before begining his second life here in New Zealand.
