Jessica Winchcombe is a New Zealand–based contemporary jeweller living and practising in Queenstown. She received a Bachelor of Applied Arts majoring in Jewellery from Whitireia New Zealand Faculty of Art in 2010.
Winchcombe’s jewellery style has received international recognition for art jewellery exhibited in Milan, Germany, Ireland, New Zealand, United Kingdom, Australia, The Netherlands and is featured in both private and public collections.
This unique style of jewellery pushes boundaries bordering on the surreal and the playful as well as being completely wearable. The conceptual tensions created in the work can surprise, delight and some have serious tones that pull you in to take a second look.
Each piece is hand made in the JW Studio in Queenstown New Zealand with ethical materials. Beautiful gold hand-mined from the local rivers – recycled silver – stunning soft New Zealand lamb leather – ethically sourced gems. Each material is handpicked by Jessica with thoughtful consideration before the fun of creating begins.

Each piece is made with a mediative practise honouring the materials to create something rhythmic focusing on our breath coming in and out of our body. These works are a celebration of life.
Winchcombe likes to play with size, scale and materials to explore this original technique of folding that has become such a foundation throughout Jessica’s career.
