This gorgeous wee fellow Tabitha, is a product of the humane trapping used to control New Zealand's feral cat population. The Ohinetonga trappers - or Ōwhango Alive - work tirelessly to protact our native bird species, including our Whio, or Blue Duck in the central North Island. 

The Ohinetonga trappers have reached a milestone in January 2026 of trapping their 10,000th pedator!

Taxidermied by Antoinette Ratcliff in Wellington.

Antoinette is one of New Zealand's most renown taxidermists. She works for Zealandia Wildlife Sanctuary and Te Papa Tongarewa (Museaum of New Zealand), as well as out of her own studio - The Sick Bay in Wellington.
